President Donald Trump mocked the new radical policy of the Democrats, the "Green New Deal", which calls for the abolition of fossil fuels in a decade, plus a guaranteed income for all Americans who do not want to work.

The plan, which was introduced Thursday by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, quickly won the approval and co-sponsoring several major presidential candidates, as well as eleven senators and 67 house representatives.

Republicans are excited about the prospect that their rivals embrace a policy that promises to destroy vast parts of the US economy, and the president is no exception.

Trump tweeted Saturday night: "I think it's very important for the Democrats to make progress with their Green New Deal – it would be great if the so-called" Carbon Footprint "includes all planes, cars, cows, oil, gas and would permanently eliminate the army – even if no other country would do the same thing. Brilliant! "

The last point – that no other country would follow the example of America – is crucial, because developing countries like China quickly surpass the US as a source of carbon emissions. They have resisted attempts by developed countries to impose uniform restrictions on the use of fossil fuels, arguing that they deserve the opportunity to grow their economies and free their citizens from poverty, just as industrialized countries did. in the 19th and 20th century.

Republicans have already started attacking Democrats who have embraced the Green New Deal.

For example, CNBC reports that Brad Parscale, Trump's 2020 presidential campaign manager, responded to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) who launched her campaign on Saturday with a statement in which she stated her support for the Green New Deal: "The American people will reject unfair campaigns and socialist ideas such as the Green New Deal, which will increase taxes, kill jobs and crush the middle class of America.
